  • 1 cup San Marzano tomatoes, crushed
  • oregano
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil
  • 1 lb diced mozzarella
  • basil, torn
  • 1 lb pizza dough

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450. Place an inverted baking sheet on lowest rack. Stretch 1 pound dough into 2 thin 9 inch rounds on floured cutting board or parchment paper. Top each with 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper and olive oil. Slide onto baking sheet in oven, bake until golden, 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle with 1/2 pound cheese each, torn basil and sprinkle with salt. Bake until cheese melts, 5 more minutes, then drizzle with olive oil.
