Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually.

Add molasses and egg, mix well.

Add sifted dry ingredients and blend.

Put through cookie press on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes.
