- 1/2 cup each slivered fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 small clove garlic, minced
- 6 About 6 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 small French baguette (8 oz) sliced 1/4 inch thick

Step 1
Stir together basil, Parmesan, garlic, and 6 Tbsp of the mayonnaise until well blended; add more mayonnaise, if necessary, to make a firm spreading consistency. Set aside.
Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Broil about 4 inches below heat until toasted on top (about 1 minute). Remove from broiler, turn, and spread untoasted sides with mayonnaise mixture, spreading to edges. Continue broiling until bubbling and lightly browned (about 2 more minutes).
