Onion-Cheese Spread

This goes great on toasted French and Rye bread slices.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves, or 1/2 tsp dry thyme
  • 2 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto, slivered
  • 1/4 lb soft goat cheese, crumbled

Preparation

Step 1

In a wide frying pan, melt butter over medium hat. Add onions and thyme and cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are very soft (about 30 minutes).

Add prosciutto and cheese and cook, stirring, until cheese is melted.
