Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 3/4 c cocoa powder
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 c chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350. Cream butter, sugar, baking soda, and salt together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl to be sure everything gets mixed together. Mix in vanilla and cocoa powder. When everthing is evenly mixed, add flour and mix only until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll dough in walnut-sized balls and place on ungreased cookie hseet. Bake for 8-9 minutes or until the cookie's middles are puffed up (they will fall as they cool.) Cool on the cookie sheet for about 3 minutes and then move to a cooling rack.
