Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

Preparation
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, shortening and salt until smooth. Add in cocoa and vanilla, beat until well combined, making sure to scrape down sides of bowl with a spatula.
Add in powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed. Add cream, once combined, beat on medium speed until creamy.
Notes
for a thicker frosting add more powdered sugar, for a thinner frosting add more cream
