Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 Cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 Cup red or white wine vinegar
  • 1 smoked Ham center slice, cut 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 4 firm medium bananas

Step 1

1. In 12 inch skillet over medium heat, heat brown sugar, butter or margarine and vinegar until sugar is melted, stirring frequently.

2. Add Ham slice to sugar mixture; cook 5 minutes on each side or until heated through.

3. With pancake turner, arrange ham on heated platter, keep warm.

4. Remove skillet from heat. Cut bananas into 1 1/2 inch chunks. Add bananas to the sugar mixture in the skillet.

5. Cook over medium heat, basting bananas with sauce until bananas are heated through, about 5 minutes.

6. With spoon, carefully spoon banana chunks onto platter to surround ham slice. Spoon sauce remaining in skillet over ham and banana mixture. Serve immediately.
