  • 16 Slices Firm White Bread - Crusts Removed
  • 4 Ounces Blue Cheese - Softened & Rind Removed
  • 2 Tablespoons Margarine
  • 2 Tablespoons Finely Chopped Fresh Basil

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease large cookie sheet. With rolling pin, roll each bread slice paper-thin. Spread about 2 teaspoons softened blue cheese over 1 slice of bread; top with second slice, pressing gently to make a sandwich. Repeat with remaining bread and cheese.

In small saucepan, melt margarine over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in basil. Brush basil mixture over top of each sandwich. Cut each sandwich diagonally into quarters; cut each quarter into halfs. Arrange triangles on cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes or until golden. Serve hot.
