Muddy Buddies

Ingredients

• 9 c. Chex cereal
• 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
• 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place cereal in a large bowl.

2. Place chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes or until mixture is smooth when stirred. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.

3. Pour mixture into large baggie with powdered sugar; shake until all pieces are coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Variation: Add 3 cups pretzels to the cooled mixture.
