Marinated Asparagus

Ingredients
- 4 lbs. fresh asparagus
- 1 1/2 c. olive oil
- 2 Tb. sugar
- 1 c. white balsamic vinegar
- 8 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp. red pepper flakes

Preparation
Step 1
Snap off tough ends of asparagus, and cook asparagus into boiling water to cover 3 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender; drain.
Plunge asparagus into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain. Arrange asparagus in two 13x9" baking dishes.
Whisk together olive oil, sugar, balsamic vinegar, garlic and red pepper flakes until well blended; pour over asparagus. Cover and chill 8 hours. Drain before placing on serving dish.
Serve with Chicken Italiano and Easy Italian Bread.
