Ingredients

  • 3 med onions, cut into wedges
  • 3 - 3 -1/2 LBS bone-in beef short ribs
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 bottle (12oz) light beer
  • 2 TBL brwn sugar
  • 2 TBL dijon mustard
  • 2 TBL tomato paste
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 tsp pepper
  • 3 TBL flour
  • 1/2 C cold water hot cooked noodles

Preparation

Step 1

place onions in 5-qt slow cooker
add ribs & bay leaf
combine beer, brn. sugar, mustard, tomato paste, thyme, bouillon, S & P
pour over meat
cover & cook on low for 8-10 hrs or until meat is tender

remove meat & vegies to serving platter
keep warm
discard bay leaf
skim fat from cooking juices
transfer juices to sm. saucepan
bring liquid to boil
combine flour & water until smooth
gradually stir into pan
bring to boil
cook & stir for 2 min or until thickened
serve w/ meat & noodles
