Ingredients

  • Maple Cream Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg, beaten,
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract,
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • chopped walnuts for garnish (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 inch pan and set aside.
In a medium sized bowl add melted butter, and brown sugar. Mix well. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Gradually add in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
While the brownies are baking, make the maple cream sauce. In a medium saucepan combine syrup and butter. Cook over low heat until butter has melted. Stir in brown sugar. Add cream cheese and continue to heat until melted.
Cut warm blondies into squares and top with ice cream and warm maple cream sauce. Garnish with chopped walnuts.
