The Williams Sonoma store in Marlton, NJ came up with this ingenious dessert using Muirhead Pecan Pumpkin Butter found in their stores and on the internet. The combination of vanilla cake base and the pumpkin mixture is wonderful, add the topping and it is great. Make it for company or during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix; set aside one cup
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 eggs, large
  • 1 jar Muirhead Pecan Pumpkin Butter
  • 2 Tbs milk
  • 1 Tbs flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Divide yellow cake mix, placing all but one cup in a mixing bowl.
3. Stir the melted butter and one egg into the cake mix.
4. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 X 12" pan or a large jelly roll pan.
5. Mix the jar of Muirhead Pecan Pumpkin Butter with the two eggs and milk. Pour over the cake mix.
6. Stir the reserved cup of cake mix with the flour, sugar, softened butter, and cinnamon.
7. Mix together until crumbly. Sprinkle over the top of the pumpkin layer.
8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. Cut into 2" squares.
