Ingredients

  • 6 medium potatoes, (3 1/2 lbs.)
  • 3/4 c. hot milk
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 c. shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 c. chopped baked ham, optional
  • Garnish: sliced green onions

Preparation

Step 1

Peel potatoes; cut into 1" cubes. Cook in boiling water to cover 15 minutes or until tender. Drain. Mash potato with a potato masher; sitr in milk and next 5 ingredients until blended. Sitr in cheese, green onion and, if desired, ham. Garnish, if desired.
