Ingredients

  • 5 cups water
  • 3 cups dry spiral pasta
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups torn romaine lettuce
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup sliced banana peppers
  • 3 ounces salami, cut into small squares
  • 5 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • 1/2 cup sliced and drained black olives
  • 1 cup Italian salad dressing, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Bring water to a boil over medium high heat, then add pasta. Cook according to directions. When pasta is al dente, drain and rinse with cold water. Put in a bowl, add 1/2 cup salad dressing and stir to coat completely. Set aside.

Toss romaine lettuce with 1/4 cup dressing, then set in bottom of large glass bowl. In individual layers, add pasta, tomatoes, peppers, salami, mozzarella and black olives.

Pour remaining 1/4 cup salad dressing over the top of the layered salad. Refrigerate until ready to serve
