Best Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups all pupose flour OR 2 1/4 cups cake flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 3/4 cup water
• 3/4 cup buttermilk
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 2 large eggs
• 4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease bottom of sides of rectanglar 13x9x2 pan with shortening and flour.

1. Beat all ingredients with electric mixer for 4-5 minutes.
2. Pour into pan.
3. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until insert pick and comes out clean.
4. Cool, add your favorite frosting.
