Cauliflower Baby Food Recipes

Cauliflower baby food is one of those foods that your baby must have in his/her diet. The cauliflower, which is a member of the Brassicaceae family, is a very tasty, nutrient dense vegetable which can easily be incorporated into your baby's diet. Brussel sprouts, broccoli and cabbage are also members of the Brassicaceae family.

Ingredients
- 1 red apple of your choice
- 160 g Cauliflower
- 1 Tbsp Onion chopped
- 1 1/2 Cups milk
- 30 g grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 clove garlic chopped finely
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter

Preparation
Step 1
When the floret's are cooked, puree to a smooth consistency.
For the older babies just crush the cauliflower with the back of a fork.
Use the reserved cooking liquid to make the puree lighter if you think its too thick for your baby.
Apple And Cauliflower Puree
Directions:
Wash, peel and chop apple into thin slices. Combine the apple and cauliflower and steam or boil in as little water as possible until soft. Puree to a smooth consistency. Add a bit of breast milk or cooled boiled water if desired.
Creamed Cauliflower
Directions
Wash and cut the cauliflower into small florets. Steam the cauliflower and the apple slices until soft and set aside. Melt the butter in heavy base non - stick saucepan and add in the onion and the garlic stirring constantly for a minute or until the onion is soft and fragrant. Add in the flour, cook and stir constantly for about a minute. Carefully whisk in the milk and then stir constanly until the sauce thickens. Add in the apple, cauliflower and the cheese, whisking carefully to break the cauliflower into even smaller pieces for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Mash the cauliflower and apple pieces with the back of fork.
