Beer Can Chicken
- 4 lbs Whole chicken
- 1 ea Potato or onions
- ½ cup Ber or Soda in the can
- Seasoning of choice
Thaw and clean chicken. Generously apply seasoning to outside skin and inner cavity.
Place half empty can inside the ChickCAN Rack. Place chicken cavity over the rack and stuff the onion or potato in the neck cavity to seal the vapors. Place rack in an aluminum pie pan filled with ¼ cup water. Place on grill (indirect heat on a charcoal or gas grill)
Cook chicken for 1-2 hours or until the skin is dark golden brown and crisp. Meat thermometer shoudl be 180° in the thigh.
Use tongs and large fork to remove entire rack in upright position to platter and let stand fro 5-10 minutes. Secure the rack with hot pad and carefully remove the chicken - DO NOT SPILL HOT LIQUID IN CAN ON SELF DURING REMOVAL.
FOR OVER USE - Cook at 350°
