  • Tossing nuts and chocolate morsels in a small amount of flour will help evenly distribute them throughout the brownies.
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts , or pecans
  • 1 c. butter
  • 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 Tb. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • Garnishes: Hot Fudge Sauce, fresh cherries
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. unsweetened chocolate baking squares
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake nuts in a single layer in a shallow pan 8-10 minutes or until toasted and fragrant.

2. Microwave butter and bittersweet chocolate in a 2-qt. microwave-safe glass bowl at HIGH 1 1/2 minutes or until chocolate is melted, stirring at 30-seconds intervals. Whisk in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

3. Toss together chocolate morsels, toasted nuts, and 1 Tb. flour.
