Ingredients

  • Hot red peppers (I use cayenne long)
  • As many as you have red in the garden- I will do 20 to 100 peppers depending upon how many are ready to be picked.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 170 degrees (or there about). Rinse and remove stems of peppers and slice in halves. Place on ungreased cookie sheet while making sure they do not touch one another. Place in oven and bake for 6 hours. Then turn oven off and leave peppers in oven over night.
You can use food processor to grind up peppers- I however use a knife and dice by hand. Place in jar once chopped up.

NOTE*** Make sure when you leave the peppers in overnight that you tell anyone or leave a note on oven to make sure that no one uses the oven before taking out peppers- otherwise they are now black pepper flakes.
