Chocolate-Pecan Tart with Caramel Sauce

Ingredients
- Caramel Sauce:
- 2 c. pecan pieces
- 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 Tb. butter , softened
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. half and half
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. half and half

Step 1
Position knife blad in food processor bowl; add pecans, and pulse 5 or 6 times or until finely chopped. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter; process 30 seconds, st6opping once to scrape down sides. Press mixture evenly onto bottom and 1/2" tart pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 28 minutes; set aside. Combine chocolate morsels and half and half in a large saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Pour mixture into tart shell. Cover and chill at least 2 hours. Serve with warm Caramel Sauce.
For Caramel Sauce: Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat; add suar, and cook, stirring constantly with a whisk, about 10 minutes or until mixture is a deep, golden brown. Add half and half (mixture will lum); cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and reduced to 2 1/4 cups (about 10 minutes). Yield: 2 1/4 cups.
