Chinese Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup green pepper, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 2 T butter or oleo
  • 1 lb.can tomatoes
  • 2 T molasses
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 1 lb. shrimp
  • 2 T vinegar
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts - drained

Preparation

Step 1

Cook green pepper and onion in butter until soft.

Add tomatoes,molasses,salt, vinegar - then heat.

Blend cornstarch in 1 T water - add to tomato mixture. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens

Add shrimp and water chestnuts - cook until shrimp is pink

Serve over rice or Chinese noodles
