Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients (beef through black pepper); shape into 4 equal 1/2-inch-thick patties. In a small bowl, combine teriyaki sauce and water. Coat a large skillet with a tight-fitting lid with cooking spray over medium heat until hot; add onion slices, cover and cook for 10 minutes or until golden brown, stirring frequently. Stir in 1 tablespoon of teriyaki mixture. Remove onions from pan and keep warm. Add olive oil to the skillet then add patties and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add remaining teriyaki mixture to pan then carefully turn patties and cook for 3 minutes or until golden. Serve patties topped with onions.

LC SERVING SUGGESTION: Steamed broccoli and Turnip Fries (peel turnips, slice into “fries”, toss with some olive oil and bake on a cookie sheet in a preheated 425-degree oven, turning once; season with salt and pepper and garlic powder).
SERVING SUGGESTION: Instead of Turnip Fries, serves Russet Fries (same directions, but only scrub potatoes (do not peel).
KOSHER: Make sure beef is certified kosher.
GLUTEN FREE: Make sure Cajun seasoning and teriyaki sauce are gluten free.
