  • 2 c. pecan halves
  • 1/2 lb. soft caramels
  • 2 tsp. heavy cream
  • 4 oz. German chocolate, chopped
  • 2 oz. white chocolate, chopped

Step 1

Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange 5 pecan halves in turtle-shaped cluster on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pecans, making 24 clusters.

Place unwrapped caramels with cream in saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly until caramels are melted; or microwave at full power for 3 minutes, stirring halfway during cooking time.

Spoon caramel mixture, by 1/2 rounded teaspoonfuls, into center of each nut cluster, slightly overlapping nuts. Let stand until set, about 30 minutes.

Place German chocolate in saucepan over very heat; stirring constantly until melted; or microwave at full power for 2 minutes, stirring halfway during cooking time. Let cool slightly; spread over caramel mixture.

Place white chocolate in small saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly until melted; or microwave at full power for 1 minute, stirring halfway through cooking time. Place in ziploc bag and squeeze chocolate into 1 corner. Pipe over German chocolate in a check pattern. Cool completely; store airtight, between sheets of waxed paper, in cool spot.
