Ingredients

  • Mix the following together and save out 1/2 C for the topping:
  • Makes batter enough for one 8 X 8 pan.
  • Warm oven to 375 degrees
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C white sugar
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 1 C flour
  • Add in the remainder of the ingredients:
  • 1/2 C buttermilk mixed with 1 egg
  • 1/4 C flour mixed with 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pour into a greased pan and sprinkle with the reserved topping
  • Bake about 25 min.
