GARLIC ONION BAKE

Ingredients

• 3-oz soda crackers (abt35) rolled fine
• 3-oz ritz crackers (abt 35) rolled fine
• 10 TBL (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
• 3 lg red onions
• 1 C chopped fresh garlic
• 8 oz sharp white cheddar cheese
• 2 eggs
• 1 C milk

Preparation

Step 1

place crackers in bowl & pour all but 2 TBL butter over them
mix well
press half cracker mix into bottom of 8X11" baking dish

slice onion thin & saute w/ garlic in remaining butter until translucent but not brown
place in baking dish & spread over crackers
grate cheese & sprinkle over garlic-onion mixture

beat eggs & reserve
scald milk, let cool a little & then incorporate w/ eggs
pour this mix over cheese & sprinkle remaining crackers on top
bake @350 for 30 min
