Nancy's Banana Pudding

Ingredients

• 1 pkg. vanilla wafers
• 2 c. sugar
• 5-6 medium bananas
• 4 Tbsp. flour
• 6 eggs, separated
• 4 c. milk
• 2 Tbsp. butter
• 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

In baking dish, put a layer of vanilla wafers, a layer of bananas and repeat.

Filling: Put egg yolks in a bowl; beat well and set aside. In saucepan, put sugar and flour and mix well. Add milk and mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Pour ½ of mixture into beaten egg yolks, and then return to saucepan. Stir until thick and remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Pour over wafers and bananas.
Top with meringue, bake until golden brown.

I layered vanilla wafers, bananas and pudding and then topped with another layer of wafers, bananas and pudding.
