Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 oz Cream Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 t Salt
  • Filling
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup Strawberry Preserves
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Lemon Zest

Preparation

Step 1

In mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, egg, cream cheese and buttermilk.

In a separate bowl, mix together, flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Combine with wet ingredients. Knead until smooth and form into a ball. Wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Roll out and cut into 6" circles. Add filling, fold over and crimp ends. Cut small slit on top. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
