Step 1

Combine:
1/2 pound marshmallows
3 (6 ounce) packages chocolate chips
2 cups chopped nuts
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Set aside marshmallow mixture.

Bring to boil:
4 cups sugar
1 large can evaporated milk

Cook:
12 minutes (soft ball stage) stirring constantly.
Pour syrup over marshmallow mixture, mixing well. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch dish. Chill for 24 hours before cutting into squares. Yields: 5 pounds fudge.
