Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Apples or other fruits

Preparation

Step 1

1 Mix all dry ingredients (first 4).
2 Melt butter and beat in egg, milk and vanilla.
3 Mix in dry ingredients and pour in mold.
4 If using apples, peel and slice and place on top of cake.
5 Add 2 tablespoons of sugar or brown sugar and slightly sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon (optional).
6 Bake at 350 – 35 minutes.
7 When taking the cake out of the oven, run a knife immediately around mold.
