Place warm milk in a bowl, add t tsp sugar and yeast. Stir to mix. Set aside to allow yeast to froth.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl. Add remaining tsp sugar, the milk mixture, oil and yogurt. Mix and form a ball of dough.
Turn the dough onto a clean work surface and knead for 10 minutes until it is smooth or satiny. Form into a ball. Oil a bowl and place the dough into it. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Place heavy baking pan into oven to preheat.
Punch dough down and knead again. Divide into 6 equal balls. Roll each ball into a teardrop shape, about 10 inches long and 5 inches across at the widest point. Place naan onto hot pan and return to oven for 3 minutes. (It should puff up) Brown slightly and flip if needed. Serve warm
