Devils Food Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 C flour
• 1 3/4 C sugar
• 1/2 C cocoa powder
• 1/2 t salt
• 1 t baking soda
• 1/2 C melted butter
• 1 beaten egg
• 1/2 C strong coffee
• 1/2 C sugar for later

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Once these are combined add melted butter. Add egg. Add strong coffee. Mix well. Chill dough for at least 1 hour or overnight.

Roll dough into 1" balls. Then roll in sugar. Put dough in fridge between batches.

Grease cookie sheet. Flatten balls slightly and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Leave on cookies sheet for only 1 minutes.
