Step 1

1. Fill poacher with warm water to 1/4" below bottom of cups.
2. Leaving out cups bring water to boil.
3. Meanwhile grease each cup with butter or margarine.
4. With water boiling, break eggs into cups, place in poacher and cover.
5. If eggs are at room temperature turn heat to medium; if eggs are from refrigerator leave on high.
6. Avoid putting eggs in poacher before water boils or overcooking eggs. This tends to make eggs rubbery.
7. Always cook with all cups in poacher regardless of whether they are filled.
8. Do not allow to boil dry.
Wash cups gently in warm soapy water and wipe clean.

3 min. - very soft egg
4 min. - hard white, soft yolk
5 min. - hard white, firm yolk
6 min. - egg hard throughout
