Ingredients

  • 8 italian sausage links (2LBS)
  • 1 jar (26 oz) meatless spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1 can (6-oz) tomato paste
  • 1 lg green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 TBL grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 8 brat buns, split
  • additional parmesan cheese, optional

Preparation

Step 1

place sausages in lg. skillet
cover w/ water
bring to boil
reduce heat
cover & simmer 10 min
drain well

meanwhile in 3-qt slow cooker, combine all intredient (through parsley)
add sausages
cover & cook on low for 4 hrs
increase temp to high
cook 1 hr longer

serve in buns
sprinklw w/ additional parmesan
