Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C melted butter
  • 2 C sugar
  • 1/2 C molasses
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 4 t baking soda
  • 1 t salt
  • 3 t cinnamon
  • 1 t nutmeg
  • 4 C flour

Preparation

Step 1

Add sugar and molasses to butter. Let cool. Add eggs, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stirring after each addition. Add flour in 1 cup increments. Dough will be stiff.

Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into walnut sized balls. Roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press down a little.

Bake for 10 - 12 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet.

These freeze well.
