Ingredients
- 1 Cup Butter or Margarine
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
- 3 Cups Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup Sour Milk or Buttermilk
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 Cup Chopped Dates
- 1 Cup Chopped Nuts

Step 1
Soft flour and mix with butter, sugar and brown sugar until fine as corn meal. Remove 1 Cup and save for topping. To remainder, add eggs, milk, baking soda and salt. Mix well and pour into 2 8 x 12 pans. Cover with a cup of chopped dates and a cup of nuts. Pat remaining cup of mix over all. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Freezes well. Better served warm.
