Ingredients
- 4 ounces uncooked bulk turkey breakfast sausage
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
- 4 Cheddar Biscuits (see recipe)
- Fresh sage leaves (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. In a medium saucepan cook sausage over medium heat until brown, using a wooden spoon to break up meat as it cooks. Add butter to saucepan. Stir until butter is melted. Stir in flour, pepper, and salt. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Whisk in milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more. 2. Split each Cheddar Biscuit. Serve sausage mixture over split biscuits. If desired, garnish with fresh sage.
