Ingredients

  • 1 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 pkg Lipton onion soup
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • garlic powder
  • flour to coat outside of patties
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 jar beef gravy
  • 2 small can mushrooms or 1 large
  • 3/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, turkey, bread crumbs, egg, nd milk using your hands. Shape into 6 patties. Place in the refrigerator for at least 1/2 hour ; this keeps the patties from falling apart

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the patties in flour just to coat, and quickly brown on both sides in the hot skillet.

Place browned patties into the slow cooker. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, gravy, mushrooms and water. Pour over the meat. Cook on the Low setting for 4 or 5 hours, until ground beef is well done.

I have also made this in a skillet on top of the stove when i am in a hurry simmer for at least 1/2 hour or more.
