Ingredients
- CAKE:
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 TBLSP butter or margarine, melted
- 1 can cherry pie filling

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9” by 9” baking pan.
In large bowl, mix cake ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda and salt. Add butter, milk, egg and vanilla. Beat with wire whisk until well mixed. Pour batter into baking pan.
In small bowl mix first three topping ingredients until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle half on top of batter. Spread cherry-pie filling over the batter and then sprinkle with the remaining topping mixture.
Bake 1 hour or until top is light golden. Makes 9 servings.
You can double the recipe and bake in 9” X 13” pan. I sometimes use one can of blueberry and one can of cherry pie filling. Spread half of cake with each can.
