Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup half-and-half cream
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 medium red onion, sliced
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup salted cashews (half or whole)
  • 1 large bunch romaine lettuce, washed and torn into bite-size pieces

Preparation

Step 1

Make dressing by combining mayonnaise, half-and-half, sugar, lemon juice, poppy seeds and garlic powder. Mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.

No more than three hours prior to serving, combine onion, strawberries, cashews and lettuce.

Just before serving, toss salad with dressing. Serve on chilled plates.
