Daiquiri

Created near the village of Daiquiri, Cuba circa 1896 by American engineer, Jennings Cox. Later perfected by a Havana bartender and enjoyed by Hemingway, who preferred his with a shot of grapefruit juice.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz light rum
• Juice of 1 lime
• 1 tsp powered or superfine sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
