Christmas Tree Spritz Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp almond extract2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
• 1/4 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• Green food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg and almond extract. Gradually add dry ingredients which have been sifted together and tint the dough with a few drops of food coloring.

Fill cookie press. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate with sprinkles. Bake for 10 minutes until bottom is lightly browned.
