Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 2 lbs. ground chuck
  • 1 pkg. Sauer's hamburger seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped finely
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcesterhire sauce
  • 1 bottle hot ketchup (substitute regular ketchup with 1-2 drops tabasco sauce)
  • 1 jar (16 oz.) apple jelly
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

Step 1

For Meatballs:

Mix ground chuck with envelope of seasonings and water. Let rest for 15 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

For Sauce: Add all together and simmer over low heat until dissolved. Add meatballs to sauce. Simmer on low heat for 30-45 minutes.
