Ingredients

  • TOAST
  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole raw almonds
  • HEAT
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • COMBINE
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried cherries or cranberries
  • 1/2 tsp table salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Coat an 8 inch square pan with non stick spray; set aside.
Toast oats and almonds in the oven on a baking sheet in a single layer until browned, 10 mins
Heat peanut butter, honey and vanilla in a saucepan over medium until peanut butter melts.
Combine cereal, cherries, salt, toasted oats, almonds and peanut butter mixture in a large bowl until ingredients are coated with peanut butter mixture. Press mixture into prepared pan and let chill until firm, 10-15 mins. Cut into bars and wrap in plastic wrap.
