Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk, reserve white
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp maple flavoring
- cup pecan halves
- chocolate frosting

Step 1
Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Separately, cream together butter and brown sugar and then add egg. Blend in vanilla and maple to butter mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Arrange pecan halves on baking sheet to make "legs" for the turtles. Roll batter into walnut sized balls and press onto "legs". Use reserved egg white to glaze "turtles" so that the legs stick to the bodies. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 mintues... do not overbake. Allow to cool and frost with chocolate or fudge frosting.
