Egg Strata II
- 8 slices white bread cubed
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 pound pork sausage browned, drained
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
I use a deep casserole dish and butter the inside of it. Layer all three things starting with white bread cubes then put pork sausage on top, and on top of that, cheddar cheese. Repeat layers again starting with bread, sausage, and cheese.
Mix 4 beaten eggs and 2 1/2 cups of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard and pour over all layers. Now mix 1 can golden mushroom soup with 1/2 cup of milk. Pour over top of casserole.
Set in refrigerator for eight hours or overnight, covered. Take out at least 15 minutes before baking time, uncover and let stand at room temperature. Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for one and half hours. Take out and let stand for 30 minutes before serving. Eat and enjoy!!!
