  • 3 eggs; save 2 whites for top
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp cocoa
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Topping
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tarter
  • 1 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, sugar, and cocoa well. Add eggs. Add milk and butter. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Use double boiler. Pour into deep dish prebaked pie shell. Add meringue and brown.

Beat egg whites, not too stiff, then add sugar, cream of tarter, starch, and vanilla. Beat until peaks form. Add to top of pie and brown in a 325 degree oven for 15 minutes.
