Chocolate Sheet Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 3 sticks butter
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup + 1/3 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup water
• 8 TBSP cocoa
• 1 box powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Melt 2 sticks of butter and add to 1 cup water and 4 TBSP cocoa. Pour over 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt. Mix.

Add 1/2 cup of buttermilk, 1 tsp vanilla. Mix.

Add 2 large eggs and mix.

Pour onto sheet cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Icing
Melt 1 stick of butter, 4 TBSP cocoa, 1/3 cup of buttermilk. Bring to a gentle boil. Pour over 1 box of powdered sugar. Add 1 tsp of vanilla. Mix.
Pour over warm - right out of the oven - cake.
