Ingredients
- 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups whipping cream, divided
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 vanilla bean, split
- 16 oz mascarpone cheese
- 3 tablespoons Marsala, optional
- 3/4 cups brewed expresso
- 70 z ladyfingers
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa

Preparation
Step 1
Stir together granulated sugar, 2 cups whipping cream, eggs, egg yolks, flour & vanilla bean in a heavy saucepan Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly fr 20 minutes or until thickened. Cool mixture completely. Discard vanilla bean. Whisk in the mascarpone.
Stir Marsala into expresso. Dip each ladyfinger in expresso mixture and arrange on bottom and up the sides of a 13x9" baking dish. Pour mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers.
Beat remaining 1 cup of whipping cream at high speed with an electric mixer until foamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Spoon over mascarpone mixture and sprinkle with cocoa.
Cover & chill for 2 hours.
