Sausages with Sauerkraut Steamed in Beer

Ingredients
- 2 cups beer or cider
- 6 to 12 assorted sausages or bratwurst
- 1 apple or pear, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon celery seeds
- 2 cups sauerkraut, washed and squeezed
- Assorted mustards

Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot with a steaming basket insert, bring beer to a boil.
Place sausages in steaming basket. Cover with apple slices and seeds, and top with sauerkraut. Cover and steam for 8 to 10 minutes, or until sausages are cooked through. Remove sausage and sauerkraut mixture from pot and serve with assorted mustards.
